Roadshow PPL (a division of Roadshow Films) is Australasia’s largest “non-theatrical” distributor,
representing many of the leading Hollywood studios and international & local independent studios and distributors
in the area of film for use outside the cinema and home. Whilst the showing of a film in public requires permission
and payment of fees, we can provide content or simply a licence to perform a film for a variety of markets and
Roadshow PPL is experienced in servicing clients as varied as schools, hospitals, churches, buses, trains,
hotels, airlines, ships, clubs, restaurants, outdoor events and more. It’s too many to list, just think of an
activity involving film that is neither cinema nor home, and more than likely you’ll be talking to us.
Like all businesses we have our pricing policies and general guidelines we must adhere to. Under instruction from
our suppliers, films are made available at various times to various markets, so just the fact that a film is
generally available through retail outlets does not necessarily mean it’s available for every application and time.
We wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s a minefield, but it can be tricky and our job is to walk customers through it
and hopefully get a satisfying outcome for both of us.
Roadshow PPL territorial rights broadly covers Australia, Papua New Guinea and
mandated territories, including New Britain, New Ireland, Admiralty Islands,
Solomon Islands (including Bougainville), Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Christmas
Islands, Ashmore Islands, Ocean Island and Nauru. Roadshow PPL also has
rights for East Timor from some studios, including Warner, 20th Centurty Fox,
Universal and Paramount.
For those studios for which we
also have New Zealand rights, this would also include Cook Islands, Fijian
Islands, Western Samoa, Tonga, Rarotonga, Norfolk Island, Kiribati, Tuvalu and
Roadshow PPL (that is Roadshow Public Performance Licensing), a division of Roadshow Films Pty Ltd,
("Roadshow"), is part of the Village Roadshow Group of Companies.
